New York, NY (PRWeb) February 13, 2007 -- Laurie Handlers introduces her new book Sex & Happiness: The Tantric Laws of Intimacy at a Valentine's Day Puja event on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Yoga Mandali in SoHo.

Handlers will read excerpts from Sex and Happiness: The Tantric Laws of Intimacy and sign copies. This is the inaugural event for the release of her much anticipated book.

The notion of the Tantric Laws of Intimacy came to Handlers during a conversation about what both men and women want, and how, despite the realms of material on relationships, they do not know about each other's wants, needs and desires. As she says, "There are no clear and widely accepted laws of love, no established rules written into convenient manuals that are given to you on the eve of your graduation into sexual relations … It seems that we just kept stabbing in the dark, and end up wounding ourselves and others in the process."

Through both personal experience and her years of extensive work and teaching in the field, Handlers believes that Tantra truly provides the missing piece. From the knowledge she has garnered from her own journey, she has created a 'roadmap' for others to follow with "Sex and Happiness: The Tantric Laws of Intimacy."

Learning to return to our innate place of openness is key, says Handlers. "Even after listing sexual expansion techniques, I would still say, 'Come to the bedroom with no expectations, but rather with openness in your heart for whatever happens.' And you would probably say, 'Yeah, well, if I could do that I wouldn't need to read this book, now would I?' And you would be right. This whole book is about regaining the unguarded openness of your heart and bringing it to sex."

After the reading, Laurie Handlers will lead the group in fun connection exercises designed to allow people to safely open their hearts while meeting others. She will incorporate Sufi Dancing, Eye-gazing and Heart Chanting as well as offer yummy sweet treats and champagne.
