'Dinner and a Movie' to Premiere with Ang Lee's Award Winning 'Lust, Caution'

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) September 25, 2007 -- Date night just got a whole lot more appetizing with the formation of a partnership between Volterra Restaurant and the Seattle International Film Festival. "Dinner and a Movie," a year-long quarterly program that officially starts in January 2008, will feature Volterra's award-winning Italian cuisine coupled with films exclusively picked by Carl Spence, Artistic Director of SIFF. And the program will premiere Sunday, September 30, 2007, with a very special tribute and fundraising dinner with Director Ang Lee of Brokeback Mountain and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon fame.

Following a screening of Lust,Caution, Ang Lee's award-winning new movie, at SIFF Cinema the dinner commences at the new Volterra Drawing Room in Ballard. The event kicks off with a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the grand opening of this intimate, new, private event space. Dale Chihuly will cut the ribbon to lend his support to this partnership and celebrate two of his favorite things; film and fine Italian food. The Volterra Drawing Room was named in honor of the 14 Chihuly drawings that grace the walls. Once the ribbon is cut, guests will be sated by an incredible meal by Chef Don Curtiss. An in-depth conversation with the Academy award-winning director follows dinner.

The official start of this quarterly year-long program Dinner and a Movie--presented by Volterra and SIFF--will happen January 13, 2008. Italian genre, Italian directed, Italian movies will be the theme of this series and each film will be complimented by a specially-prepared meal in the intimate private dining room. And what could be more fitting than to kick this film series off with Big Night, one of the all-time great food movies. For this "can't be missed" event, Chef Curtiss will recreate the sumptuous feast that was prepared in the movie. Forty-five exclusive seats are available and the movies will be shown on the state-of-the-art AV system that was installed for this project. The series will continue quarterly on April 13th, July 13th and Oct. 12th.
