Grand Prix New York Launches Competitive Racing Leagues for Adult Drivers

Mount Kisco, NY (PRWEB) April 25, 2008 -- Grand Prix New York Racing, LLC (GPNY), a 120,000-square-foot indoor entertainment and recreational kart racing facility in Mount Kisco, NY, brings the excitement of motor sports to drivers over the age of 18 with the formation of its Adult Racing Leagues.

"It's a great opportunity for local residents to enjoy a sport that they've probably never participated in," said Sy Aryeh, Managing Member of GPNY. "Joining a league gives regular folks the opportunity to bond with old friends and meet new ones while experiencing the rush of racecar driving in a healthy, competitive environment. It's a distinctive team sport that's a fresh break from golfing, racquetball, tennis, and other sports."

GPNY currently offers four different racing leagues to fit your schedule. The Cooper League races on alternating Monday nights (five nights each) from March 31 to June 2. The Matra and Vanwall Leagues race on alternating Tuesday nights (five nights each) from April 1 to June 3. The opening time for each round is 7:30 p.m. for all leagues.

League drivers will race GPNY's Sodi RX7 gasoline-powered karts that reach top speeds of 40 m.p.h. Racers will have to navigate the facility's two quarter-mile-long, 24-foot-wide racetracks and will compete for over 70 laps per round. The tracks each feature six-foot-high elevation changes, 14 flowing turns, and will be shaped into five different configurations for each round. For each league's final round, the two tracks will be linked together into one half-mile-long "Super Track."

League members are trained on the track by skilled instructors with driver development and wheel-to-wheel kart racing experience. Enrollment is limited to no more than 16 drivers per league. The leagues are divided into weight classes of 185 lbs. and under and 186 lbs. and over. The cost of the five-round Adult Racing League is $500.
