Blending Your Talents and Abilities with your Passion!
What comes really easily to you? Maybe youre a math whiz; a great dancer; putting stuff together is a snap; youre a natural mom it could be anything & and MANY things.
What do you LOVE to do? What is most important to you in life? What makes your Heart sing?
The most fulfilled people seem to have discovered a way to blend their natural talents and abilities with their passion on a consistent basis.
Then, they find a way to receive dollars at the same time!!!
As you can see, this is backwards from the way many go about their lives. Its about designing a life instead of making a living !
Heres a simple, yet powerful, exercise you can do that will assist you:
On a full-size sheet of paper, write at the top Things that Come Really Easily to Me . Then number from (1) to (15) along the left margin. Then breathe deeply and easily and write down the first 15 thoughts that come to your mind. Dont censor or judge anything just write them down.
2) At the top of another sheet of paper, write Things I Really Enjoy Doing . Number in the same way from (1) to (15) and do what you did in (1) above. Remember, just write. The answers can be anything. Answers like walking to the park with my dog on a sunny day is perfectly fine.
3) Now review both lists and look for any pattern, themes, and overlapping areas. Maybe you like to read and youre good at it too. Write down anything you discover.
Do this every day for 7-21 days. I promise you, patterns will emerge and you will make important connections. Your subconscious mind will become curious about what you are doing. Things will begin to shift.
As the process unfolds, you may need to take a look at some of your beliefs about yourself, success, money, and business. For example & Do you believe you deserve to get paid well AND do what you love? Do you believe this is possible? Do you think it has to be hard and/or take a long time? Do you feel success is right for others, but not for you? Do believe business is dirty and sales is beneath you ? Do you think money is the root of all evil? &. I think you get the idea.
The key is to become AWARE of your beliefs, ACCEPT them and yourself in the process, take RESPONSIBILITY for your beliefs, FORGIVE yourself and others (and allow yourself to be forgiven) for anything associated with these beliefs, be GRATEFUL that you have the opportunity to examine and change these beliefs now, and THEN begin to explore and feel into what beliefs you might prefer adopting.
Then pick one of these new beliefs that feel good to you and try it on for size . Ask yourself: If I really believed this, how might I feel; what might I do today; who would I talk to, etc. Then, if youre inspired, take some action (but dont feel any pressure that you have to do anything!).
As I study the lives of people I admire, I see a common pattern: Once they discovered what they really wanted to do, they started doing it and giving it away in the beginning. They felt this was fair, as it gave them practice and others gave them feedback. This also fostered goodwill. Then people would start to offer to give them money for the same activity.
This is just one way to do it, but I wanted to share it with you as I have heard about this many times. The important thing is to be inspired and then step out in faith and humility.
Final thoughts: KNOW that you are unique in all the world and YOU have a special contribution to make. You will find it as you allow yourself to rest in your Heart and simply BE the LOVE that you are!
The following is a prayer one of my teachers often suggests: Oh Great Spirit, help me to become magnetically attracted and attractive to my Path with the Most Light for this lifetime. Help me to Be Still, resonate with my Heart, and simply BE the LOVE that I AM.
